Due to be arrested in middle of divorce

Could do with some advice. Chances are my husband is being arrested and remanded in custody this week. Which is horrendous and whole other story. We're due for first financial hearing this week and to complete questionairres with the points to raise/proposals for a settlement etc. If he's in prison there will be no child maintenance. I'm now confused/at a loss as to what's best to fight for in the settlement if there's not going to be any regular income from his side. We've been together 15 years, married 7 and have 4 children. I know it seems heartless thinking of money when he's facing time inside but I need to figure out the best way to ensure my children are okay. I work but my salary is low as I'm training too. Though my wage won't go up once I've completed the training. He will fight against every penny.

Do you have a lawyer? If not, I suggest you get one as they should be able to help you here (I imagine).

Horrible situation to be in, I hope it works out for you and your children.

I'd have thought your solicitor would suggest asking for more of the assets ie home value in lieu of income?

If he will be unable to pay maintenance, you should get a larger slice of the assets to compensate.

Yes, I've got a solicitor. I'm hoping she'll advise me on what would be considered reasonable. I was thinking whether the court would agree to a higher percentage of assets but with everything being very uncertain on his side I don't know if they will. Thank you.
