Posting for my elder DSis.
She is entitled to Legal Aid
About to start divorce proceedings with a great solicitor.
But she is terrified of her STBEx. I'm not exaggerating when I say he has the potential to be a dangerous man. Especially right now.
He has a very successful business, but flies very close to the wind, unpaid tax, cash jobs etc, etc. He has her registered as a director. She has no evidence of any wrongdoing, but if authorities start to dig I'm sure they could find plenty.
She was very naive when she married him, she trusted him, probably too much. I would say he groomed her from the age of 16. He was a fair bit older. She wouldn't listen to our parents...
If she tells her solicitor all of this, will they be obliged to tell Legal Aid and/or Ministry of Justice or police about his possible wrongdoings? If they did he would come for her, she's convinced and I am too tbh.
I'm so scared for her.

If she has no evidence of wrongdoing, there is nothing for her solicitor to tell anyone.

Hi it falls within the rules of client privilege unless she told her something like she murdered her baby and buried in the garden, or some other such verifiable and serious crime

Thank you so much.
If she gets a forensic accountant and they uncover eg: tax fraud, wouldnt that fall outside of Client Privilege?

Well why would she do that if he would come after her? If she used said forensic info, dont understand
