Does anyone know what happens after environmental health visit your house?

Hello,
We had environmental health visit our rental house last Thursday, we moved in almost 8 months ago. Our landlord repeatedly ignored us about our issues/repairs/mould, finally we're forced by the letting agent to come and see repairs 6 months ago. They sent a joiner 2 weeks after that to come and see what needs repairing, who has never come back (6 weeks ago) hence we called environmental health. Plus our heating has now also broken and is constantly on (a plumber has been twice and can't fix it and has stopped replying)
So does anyone know how long for environmental health to speak to the landlords now and are they given timeframe to repair? For example one issue is a large hole under the bathroom sink and freezing cold air is coming in through it

They will have assessed your house under the HHSRS scheme and it will come out with hazards listed in categories. Category 1 is the worst. They will then look at what action they need to take to ensure each hazard is addressed. Might include enforcement notices on your landlord. I would ring the EHO and ask if I was you. I don’t work in Private Sector Housing but I would be happy to chat anything through if I was called in this scenario.

Hello,
Thank you for your reply! I actually heard from them pretty much after I posted this, the landlords got an improvement notice, not sure how long they have to act on it though!

@Sarahjsxx

On an improvement notice there is a 28 day appeal period and then the LL can start the work. There will be a date on it when they have to complete the works by.
Tenants should be given a copy of the notice, if you've not got one ask the EHO for it x
