Ending family court proceedings

Me and my ex have managed to come to a mutual agreement before the next hearing. Can we send a court an outline of what we are asking for and the courts legally order what we have asked for? Would this also mean they would close our case and we will not need to go to the next hearing ?

Also before I send the letter off I am the primary carer. Is there anything I should make sure I ask to be court ordered besides residency ?

Assuming this is Children Act proceedings you need to agree the wording of a draft order and place it before the court for approval.
