Legal cover on household insurance

I have a solicitor paid for through my household cover. Can someone clarify whether I am the client or whether the insurance company is the client? Their communication has been really poor.

You are the client but they will also owe a duty to the insurer not to run up costs by doing unreasonable things even if you ask them to.

@Collaborate Thank you. There are months between emails (this has been going on since 2021). Today they eventually emailed saying that my surveyor hadn't responded to an enquiry made in March. I resolved this in 10 minutes by contacting the surveyor- I don't understand why this wasn't followed up earlier particularly as I emailed in May, June and July requesting an update.
