Is a country court judgment detected after changing address

I had to take someone to court as I was owed 8k. The person now has a ccj against their name.
However... they have since moved and when I do searches against the person ( using 192 search) no ccjs are detected for them.

I've mentally written off the money, but what's the point in going through the process of issuing a ccj if it doesn't show up in simple credit searches?

How long ago was the ccj registered?

TreeBlindMice · 25/06/2023 21:45

The ccj was registered late 2021

If you mean would the new address be added to the Register of Judgements then I think the answer is no unless perhaps a creditor provides a link.

That's why, if you apply for a loan or whatever, the lender asks for previous addresses.

Thanks .... so this means that if the person I took the ccj against never admits to living at the address she was at when the ccj was issued... that it will never show up when someone does a credit check against her.

Not much point in it then from a pov of warning future people is there?

The agencies that provide credit references will usually know if the individual has moved house, so the CCJ will still appear on any credit reports and affect their credit score.
