What sort of capacity are you a witness in?
I go to family Court a lot for work, people dress in all sorts of things. I tend to just wear a midi dress and tights, or smart pants and a shirt etc. Nothing too wild. Just office wear.
If I am giving evidence I might wear a jacket but usually not

It's me and my sons father. It's to do with child contact! So not a witness x

Oh if you work in an office, just wear something smart you'd wear for work.
Otherwise, just a dress and tights, or a pair of smart trousers and flats and a blouse. Parents wear jeans or leggings sometimes, it doesn't really matter that much, but it is better to look smart as the judge will notice.

much as we might not want to, people make judgements based on clothes. so if this is family courts about your child, I guess you want to show an image of yourself as - loving mother who is organised & competent.

So dress in something that is smart and neat, maybe like you might wear to a smart sunday lunch with your family in a nice restaurant

I've just been! I wore a nice dress with a smart jacket and loafers also st Laurent handbag. Sober and professional. Hair and nails done. Discreet jewellery. Channel "lovely decent woman". Good luck!
