I'm curious about the recent allegations towards Nicola Sturgeon and her husband.

Could they end up in jail?

If not, what's the worst punishment they could get if they're guilty?

No and none. People with big egos don't suffer consequences like normal people.

I am not sure if I mixed the people up but wasn't he released without charge in the last couple of days?

Well they haven’t been charged with anything. PM was released within a few hours, NS hasn’t been arrested. So it’s probably a bit premature to be thinking about a prison sentence.

Sturgeon's husband has been released, but that doesn't mean he won't be charged. She hasn't even been arrested yet, although the Scottish papers seem to think that is likely. Unless and until they are charged and we know the nature of the charges, it is impossible to say whether they are likely to end up in jail if convicted.

Peter Murrell and Colin Beattie have both been arrested and released without charge pending further investigations which means that either or both of them could be charged in the future.

I have no idea if NS was involved or will be arrested.

The sums of money involved are in the hundreds of thousands so it is possible that if they were found guilty they could be imprisoned.
