Joint Tenants or Tenants in Common? How do I find out?

Hello - as part of another legal process, I have been asked if we own our house as joint tenants, or tenants in common. We have lived here 24 years, the mortgage is payed off and I have to admit I have no idea? Anyone got any idea how I find out? Thanks for your help.

Get a copy of the deeds. Should say on there.

You can get a copy of your deeds for a small fee from Land Registry and it will show on there.

If it is joint tenancy you can sever and change to tenants in common. You don’t need the other parties permission.
