Ordered something in shop without trying, can I ask for refund or do distance selling regulations not apply?

I ordered a pair of glasses frames from an independent opticians after trying them in a different colour. Didn't try the colour or size I wanted on as they didn't have them. (I tried them in a different shop) Paid in full upfront. They've taken a lot longer to arrive than stated and they've not been great re customer service.

Messed up my husbands appointment l, said they'd give him free eye test as we were buying 4 pairs of glasses between us and I'm just a bit worried about spending so much money with them now.

As I never tried the glasses on in the shop and they were ordered on line by them can I ask for refund?

No lenses have been ordered just the frames.

No, distance selling regulations do not apply. Assuming the glasses have been delivered, you can only return them and get a refund if they are faulty.
