How easy to add a name to land registry

We would like to change the registered owners of a property from one person to two, it’s owned outright with no mortgage. I’ve looked at the forms on Gov.uk but I’m not sure if it’s something we can easily do ourselves. Is this doable or would we need a solicitor? Thanks. It’s me going onto the property that DH has owned for years. It should have been done ages ago for inheritance purposes so we are trying to neaten things up now.

Pretty easy. You'll need to do a transfer from one person, to both people jointly. It's a TR1 form which effects the transfer.

I think you'll also need to do an ID1 form (which you may need a solicitor for as it requires verification by a solicitor but this is quick and simple).

Thanks, that’s great.

You need advice on whether to own it as joint tenants or tenants in common too.
