Is there anything we can do to speed it up? They're saying there is a backlog in their legal department.

How long is "forever" and how big /complex is the development?

tangerinedays · 23/02/2023 18:38

It's only one house and it's a local persons restriction. I genuinely think it should be quite straightforward. It's been three weeks since the decision, but we haven't made any progress at all.

That's not "forever" in a world where most councils have had staff numbers cut to the bone.

tangerinedays · 23/02/2023 18:58

Thanks, that's about as helpful as the response I'm getting from them!

It is a busy time of for planning and associated legal teams. April is quieter.

Yes, they won't be sat twiddling their thumbs. Most of the ones I work with do way more than their contracted hours and still can't keep on top of the work

I work in a local Council and have been waiting over a year for Legal to come back to me on one of my cases. They will have timed out now so I won’t be able to proceed. This is in spite of chasing regularly. They literally don’t have the staff.
