Help please - no fault car claim and bill for hire car

Has anyone had success with this please? My brother is tearing his hair out as he had someone go into the back of him while stationary at lights. His car is a write-off. The insurance company arranged for a courtesy car but now the hire company are trying to charge him thousands for the hire, plus storage of his damaged car, whilst the insurance company are not paying out despite the fault being admitted by the other driver. Easi-drive (the hire company) are now threatening to take him to court. He's not sleeping because of it, has issues with his neck due to the whiplash and it doesn't help that both parents died within the last 8 months so he's already pretty low :-( I would be grateful to hear if anyone has managed to win in a similar situation.

My DD was injured in a crash that was not her fault, car was written off. It took 4 years to settle. We had 3 different claims handlers and I had to pay for the physio and everything up front.
I am so sorry your brother is going through this.
Do you know why the insurers are not paying out?
Is it because there are no witnesses? The driver at fault has changed their story? Were the police called?
You need to find out exactly what the insurance company are saying and IME you have to keep on and on and check everything.
Does your brother have legal cover on his home insurance?

Was there a camera at the lights?

Are they refusing the entire claim? Have they paid out for the written off car and your brother has kept the courtesy car after they paid him?
