Questions on family mediation

DP has had his time with his children reduced. He has been trying his best to work with his ex but she is unwilling to compromise.

He has sent a solicitor letter asking to resume his usual schedule. She is saying she will not budge.

Next steps will be mediation and I wondered if anyone could share their experience, how they picked a mediator, process, time scales etc. and if it possible to have the mediation agreement (assuming there is one) drawn up to be a legal document.

If mediation fails, what was the process for court, timescales etc.

So as not to drip feed, ex has stopped midweek overnight due to DP moving 20 minutes away. Thinks it’s in kids best interest to have the extra 20 minutes in bed so not tired for school. Kids aged 8 and 9.

What other contact does DP have with the children?

To answer one of your questions, it may be possible to make the mediation agreement into a Child Arrangements Order if the court agrees that it is in the children's best interests to do so.
