Do courts expect you to receive and respond to documents or court orders served when you are on holiday?

We are involved in a long running legal dispute and informed the solicitors many months ago of our non available dates which they requested so they could inform the court. This included our holiday dates. We have been waiting to hear from the court for a long time on the next steps. Would the court and solicitors serve us with any instructions by email requiring action when we are on holiday? I dont want to have to be available on holiday to reapond to solicitors emails on dates I told the we were unavailable but I dont know what the expectations are in these circumstances. The matter has dragged on for several years so it wouldnt be reasonable to have no holidays.

You tell your solicitor your holiday dates so that the court can avoid listing hearings for then. Generally the court timetable (deadlines etc) does not respect your holiday dates.

courts don't respect annual leave/holidays.
your solucitors should have (did they?) advise you on that and that you need to be available to respond unless your solicitors are able and authorised to deal with it on their own.
