Are they hiding assets in relation to proceeds of crime, a divorce or something else?

Depends on what court (family, criminal etc) and type of statement.

You'll need to be more specific.

Chillinvibes · 09/07/2022 17:27

It’s civil hiding assets and claiming against an estate under the inheritance (provision of family and defendants) Act

It is perjury but it is highly unlikely that they would be charged, let alone convicted. Forget this and concentrate on proving to the court that they are hiding assets.

Absolutely bugger all

DashOfMilkNoSugar · 09/07/2022 19:15

Perjury or theft I imagine and it would depend upon the scale of the deceit and how much the person benefits.

Nothing 100s of people lie every day in family court. There's not enough space in jail.

If the judges had some back bone and started to sentence people to a maximum of 7 years the problems and lies would end very quickly.

You can go to prison as did Jonathan Aiken and Archer- politicians who lied under oath.
