Probate was applied for in January 2021. Still heard nothing

Is this normal? Seems an awful long time

Campervangirl Friend of mine also had a solicitor complete probate and they made three mistakes which she picked up and they took longer & charged £2k

i found the probate customer service extremely helpful with which forms online to fill in - cost me around £200

I have done probate recently, sent off all forms and had confirmation of documents received email and then 15 mins later to say probate was granted, took 3 weeks all in. And to who asked no they don't send you a copy of the will back.

a While back admittedly and relatively straightforward estate but I submitted online in December 2019 and it was complete by end of Jan 2020. And as pp said, the original will is not returned.
