Can I claim compensation for road works keeping me awake??

Last year they started some road works behind my house. It’s a main A road so they have to do the work during the night. They start the work around 9-10pm and finish around 5am. This has been going on since early last year!! The noise off the machines are so loud I have all my windows closed and can still hear them all night long!! They aim to be finished in may 2023 they are widening the carriage way I don’t see how it can take this long but even now it’s 11:30pm I’m pregnant I’m achy I’m so tired and all I want is a decent sleep!! I can hear them with my windows closed right now and it’s got me wondering if there is some way I can claim compensation for all these sleepless nights??

Potentially. Get a few of your neighbours together and put in a joint claim, ideally through a solicitor. Get evidence, noise recordings, start time, expected finish time, details of delays. Also you need to show you have taken steps for noise avoidance, ie double glazing (unless your property is listed), closed windows.
A group of resident near me claimed several years ago because they could prove loss of value of their property.

Yes we have double glazing and 3 windows in the house are triple glazed in an attempt to block out the noise form the main road anyways. My neighbours I’m certain would also be up for this especially the ones on my side of the street as our back gardens are all in a line then behind them in a dog walk then the dual carriageway so us on this side of the street hear it the most
