Can anyone help? My legal cases have spiralled out of control

I have a feeling that this might be a common problem- but my legal cases are spiralling out of control and I don't know how to pull it all back.

My ex and I have been divorced for years. I got a non-mol against him last year.

I still haven't received the money owed to me by him. So after 4 years of lawyers letters, I brought the matter back to court.

At the same time my lawyer advised me to go for a child arrangement order, as my friends and Women’s aid have done for years. But the thing is they don't know my ex like I do.

He also brought a prohibitive steps order on me- which has spawned it's own flurry of hearings.

Yet at every hearing the judge can't make a decision because they don't want to over rule what a judge might order in one of our parallel hearings. So they give us an order and schedule a follow up hearing and it is just going on and on.

I phoned my lawyer today to ask if we could knock the whole thing on the head and write to ex to agree everything out of court. But he said that's unlikely to happen so we should just progress with everything.

But things are getting messier and messier and I'm horrified and terrified at how it will end.

Sorry it is hard to give details because it's very outing. But I'm really struggling with all the cases and wish I'd never started any of them.

I guess I'm terrified that out of the blue they'll decide my children can't live with me anymore- that's my real fear

Ask your lawyer if they can apply to have all your cases heard by the same judge. There are different 'teams' of judges working on Financial and Children cases - you need a judge who is on both teams and can deal with everything.

Thanks @TalbotAMan as I have all the hearing dates already do you think that will be possible?

But yes I think that is a really good idea, and would clear lots of it up, so I will ask that at least
