Hello! My DH has had a history of unsecured debt (nothing major but it does worry me for the future). Is there any way I can protect our family home? Or any solicitors you would recommend?

Is he close to being declared insolvent?

Putting the family home in only your name could work, although if you divorced he’d still have claim to it (but not if you remained married and he alone was declared bankrupt).

What might be better is looking at all your debts and incomes and working out a way to get them paid off. There’s a lot of very good advice on the moneysavingexpert forums about this.

I (or we depending on how you want to see it) can easily get him out of debt (for now). It's more about the future than the present.
