How unlikely is it that remortgage offer is withdrawn by bank at completion?

Just wondering if this ever happens.

Remortgage to a new bank has been approved. Legal forms are being drawn up, heading towards completion. Just wondering if the bank ever withdraws their mortgage offer once it has been made?

They won't withdraw the offer without reason, but they can withdraw if you breach the terms of the offer. The offer documents should tell you the circumstances under which the offer can be withdrawn.

I've seen it happen a couple of times when someone has taken a credit agreement out between the loan being agreed and completion, as the bank has done a final credit check.
