has anybody dealt with royal bank of scotland when trying to close an account after somebody dies

i was told by the bank it should only take 7 days but lawyer whose dealing with it claims theyre one of the most difficuilt banks to deal with in cases like this im just wondering what other peoples experiences in dealing with rbs in situations like this have been like?

all the banks are taking ages at the moment. After sending them grant of probate and closure form, my most recent experience was 3 weeks til payment.
