Lady with high heels walking around next door early in morning

I live in a building of 1 bedroom flats. The building and flats are quite nice and have wood flooring throughout the flats. My next door neighbour wakes me up every Saturday and Sunday at around 6am walking up and down the flat in high heels. There is no one below us, but my bedroom is next to her living room/kitchen so it goes straight through the walls and wakes me. It’s been bothering me for ages but my landlord is useless and won’t do anything. So I thought maybe I would go and chat to her myself. She tried to lie at first but then admitted that she takes photos for her job and has to walk up and down. I asked her if she understood how noisy it was that early in the morning, she said it’s tough. Everyone makes noise and nothing she can do about it. I said to her could she put down a rug or something or wear slippers. She refused and said she’s not going to stop end of story and there’s nothing she can do about the noise. I said to her considering you wake me up at 6am every morning (not weekdays because I’m awake early for work) but when I’m sleeping on weekends at 6am until she starts stomping around in heels! I know there’s nothing I can do about it so il need to hand my notice in to my landlord and hope for the best in my next property. I literally can’t stop her from doing it so I either suffer with no sleep or move out. So upset that she didn’t even care, how selfish. Legally there’s nothing I can do because I know my landlord will not enforce anything. He will speak to her as I’ve just emailed him, but other than that it’s not going to stop. I actually said to him if she needs to walk up and down in heels for photos (I’m guessing she’s a model or does only fans as she came to the door undressed accept for a silk gown and a face full of makeup) so if it’s her job she won’t stop, so would he consider fitting her flat with carpet? Personally I’d love carpet in here, but I know not everyone likes it. Just having a rant really, I wouldn’t mind usually but 6am-8.40am she was doing it today. That’s too early to be making such a racket. 😞

Annoying. Have you tried ear plugs?

Highheelprincessnextdoor · 28/11/2021 09:18

No I haven’t. I will buy some

She's told you she won't stop so there's nothing you can do other than move out or try ear plugs

Theunamedcat · 28/11/2021 09:21

Can you move your bed away from the wall?

Does her bedroom back onto your room could you get some heels and petty revenge

PeterPomegranate · 28/11/2021 09:24

Sounds very annoying. When we lived in a flat a condition of the lease was to have carpet. Probably to avoid this kind of noise nuisance. Guess that’s not the case here though.

Highheelprincessnextdoor · 28/11/2021 09:24

It’s so loud I can hear her from my living room too with the door shut. The bed isn’t next to the joining wall. It’s so loud you can’t escape it. Was more pissed off at her reaction to be honest. She seemed so spoilt and entitled. I could get revenge tomorrow at 5am and wake her up but.... what good would that do

This sounds very dodgy to me, she's probably a webcam sex worker.

I just bought my son who works from home some noise blocking headphones as his neighbours are bastards and he said they are fantastic.

You can get noise blocking ear buds too and as the others said ear plugs.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 28/11/2021 09:29

can you ask her to start later at the weekend?

ShesComeUndone · 28/11/2021 09:29

The rental agreement might have something in it about running a business from home. It depends what her work is but it might be worth checking.

MrsFin · 28/11/2021 09:53

She has to take photos for work at 6am, and she has to walk around in high heels for this?
What is her job? Hmm

Highheelprincessnextdoor · 28/11/2021 10:01

@MrsFin I think her job is taking half naked photos/videos of herself to sell online or to a modelling agent. I’m genuinely confused about why she needs to do it at 6am on weekends.

I would guess webcam sex stuff.

OP, have you looked into sound proofing? You can get quite good results without losing a huge amount of space.

Maybe her clients are overseas, different time zone.
I would speak to management company about her running a business from home, the noise. If she is not receptive to your requests.
