Well it's theft but I can't imagine any police time being spent on it.

TurnUpTurnip · 02/11/2021 20:39

How odd!

PiffleWiffleWoozle · 02/11/2021 20:42

This happened to us too! Left the house for less than 15 mins and someone nicked the sodding pumpkins!!!

Is it some tik tok dare or something?!?

traka · 02/11/2021 20:43

Yes it's theft but don't waste the Police's time with this

Nikki037297 · 02/11/2021 20:45

It must be something as my daughter seen her friend pulling up at her house when we got home and ran to tell her and her friend said her other friend had the same happen to her a few streets away! This was them before 2 were stolen

It’s technically theft, yes, and very annoying/twattish behaviour, but there’s not much you can do about it. The Police wouldn’t investigate something like that, plus I would hope someone wouldn’t bother wasting Police time reporting it.

User527294627 · 02/11/2021 20:46

I mean, technically yes it is, but nobody is going to do anything about it.

itsgettingwierd · 02/11/2021 20:48

It's theft but I doubt you'd even get a crime number.

Bloody annoying though and some people are just sheer twats.

I took ds to a hospital apt yesterday which coincided with school kick out from the secondary school nearby. Kids were taking pumpkins off people's drives and kicking them. Angry

I beeped my horn really pudgy which drew attention to them and they scarpered. Selfish little whatnames

trumpisagit · 02/11/2021 20:49

Like Advent calendars, there never quite seems enough pumpkins to go round, and the shops sell out quite early.
Your carving was also rather nice. It's annoying but definitely not worthy of police time.

Muchmorethan · 02/11/2021 21:01

Mine were taken by the Refuse collector's. They walked up my driveway and into my front garden and took the pumpkins that were on display

They were nowhere near the edge of my property or near my black bin.

CovidCorvid · 02/11/2021 21:02

I’d shame them all over fb groups! 👍

Theunamedcat · 02/11/2021 21:02

This is why my pumpkins are Facebook and back garden only

Ginqueen456 · 02/11/2021 21:04

People around my area leave them out for people to take to feed their animals so maybe the person who took it assumed that's why they were left out.

stalkersaga · 02/11/2021 21:06

Shake your fist at the sky and rail about kids today, Grandpa Simpson style. Then roll your eyes internally and let it go. Halloween is over and they were rotting anyway. Next year keep them closer to the house.

SmallWaistFatFace · 02/11/2021 21:07

It's theft but please don't waste precious police time with this.

Splashinginpuddles15 · 02/11/2021 21:08

That is so mean . I can’t believe they stole your pumpkins ! How low can someone stoop !

Hairyfriend · 02/11/2021 21:11

Yes, its theft. What would you expect the police to do? how would they track them and what punishment do you expect them to get?

TroysMammy · 02/11/2021 21:15

Next year carve "Fuck Off" on them.

pombal · 02/11/2021 21:15

Seriously, wtf is wrong with people-stealing pumpkins ffs!

spotcheck · 02/11/2021 21:21

Can you see the number plate?

If so, I WOULD 'trouble' the police about it.
Stealing pumpkins has clearly become a 'thing' - they brazenly stole from your garden. Why should you ignore?

unfortunateevents · 02/11/2021 21:35

Annoying but frankly if someone stole my pumpkins on 2 November I wouldconsider it good riddance to get rid of something which was beginning to decompose and smell a bit and it would save me the bother of putting them in the garden waste!

WaltzingBetty · 02/11/2021 22:08

Surely Halloween is over now?
They probably assumed they were abandoned

MrsReeves · 02/11/2021 22:09

We carved 2 pumpkins, a large one, and a small squash. Also put out a butternut squash, which I didn't carve but drew an artistic ghost face on 3 ovals in marker pen and when we got back from trick or treating, the butternut squash had been stolen Confused

liveforsummer · 02/11/2021 22:11

I wish someone would steal mine. I don't currently have a food waste bin so going to be a hassle to dispose of!

MoreStuffingMatron · 07/11/2021 13:04

Next year put non drying paint on the sides
