Do you have to give eBay your correct date of birth?

eBay have recently asked for more details from sellers including date of birth.
I’ve not sold anything since but I miss selling things- just did it as a hobby now and again.
Would it be a problem if I didn’t give my correct date of birth?
Not too happy about giving details such as this in case of fraud.

For the new Managed Payments system, the details on your eBay account need to match up with those. eBay has also indicated that it may at some future point credit reference some business sellers - at which point you’d need to have the correct date of birth registered to pass.

Thanks for your reply. There’s one item in particular I want to sell just now then I’m not so fussed. I wonder if I could give a different date of birth then sell it & then just not sell anything else
