How to stop mail from previous owners?

Hi all,

I’ve just been on the phone with Royal Mail and they said they cannot stop mail from previous owners coming to our address.

It’s been 5 years and we’ve been posting most of the letters back with “Return to sender”.

Anybody has a real life advice, how to actually stop this? Most of them are addressed to a limited company.

@RedMarauder We opened a few and found it to be Bank statements. We contacted the Bank who didn't really care much and said to just keep sending them back. It is quite a nuisance though. Haven't really opened others as can just tell from the address at the back that it's the same bank. That's the only post we receive of the previous owner. No other junk mail or anything else.

I used to write on the envelopes:
MOVED AWAY
RETURN TO SENDER
ALL FUTURE CORRESPONDENCE WILL BE RETURNED TO YOU.

But after 5 fuckin' years !!! - I would bin the lot.

I like the idea of putting in a unstamped envelope to make the receiver pay for the inconvenience. Does anyone know if this works?
