Consumer rights re. faulty medical device

Hi all,

I purchased a medical device three weeks ago from a large corporation. I have used the device for approx. 1 week and it is faulty. I contacted the company and they say they will repair it for me but I need to wait until the end of the month when their repairman has a free slot.

Am I within my rights to demand a refund or replacement instead of a repair? I don't want to wait that long (I need the device to breathe properly) and I don't want to be stuck with a lemon, either.

Any advice would be appreciated!

You are entitled to reject the device and receive a full refund. You do not have to give them a chance to repair it.

@prh47bridge Thank you. I did ask for a replacement rather than a repair; this suggestion was rejected. I will try asking for a refund.
