John Lewis and Fisher & Paykel cooker BROKEN AGAIN

I am at my wits end. I spent £2500 on a Fisher & Paykel cooker from John Lewis, purchased in Dec 2019. At Christmas 2020 it broke down. In March 2021 Fisher & Paykel were finally able to fix it… so nearly three months without a fully working cooker.. the electrics had gone. We were very understanding of the difficulties they faced due to Covid.. and were a bit more understanding of the fact that it took a while to fix.
Anyway.. 5 months on - the bloody thing has done the same AGAIN. This time they can’t send someone out until the 6Th SEPTEMBER!
This isn’t some sort of lifestyle item.. it’s our cooker. I have a family of 6…
In the last 18 months it will have been out of action for 4 months!
I have gone back to John Lewis, who quite frankly, don’t give a toss… “manufacturer’s warranty” blah blah blah… I have just asked to have my complaint escalated.. I’ve tried both companies for a replacement and a new warranty. Neither is interested until the engineer has been…
I’ve just got of the phone asking to have it escalated and just been told to email technical support at John Lewis… so my request for escalation was just ignored. They couldn’t even get them to call me…

But here I am, without a functioning cooker AGAIN.

I have explained to both that this is a cooker that is simply not fit for purpose.

I am so cross. I know I need to calm down.. but I would really like to know what I should do next.. where do I send the bill for the takeaways??
How the hell do I get a functioning cooker that I have paid for…
Any advice greatly received, thank you

I hate Twitter but tbh that's the only place I've ever got companies to actually respond !

We had a very similar problem with a Britannia cooker that we bought, at great expense, from John Lewis. It broke down on an annual basis for 4 years, once leaving us without an oven over Christmas.
John Lewis didn't want to know. Eventually, after much persistence, OH managed to negotiate a replacement oven at cost price, by contacting the MD of the parent company. Not an ideal solution - I would have preferred some sort of refund and to buy a different brand, but that would have meant reconfiguring our kitchen.

I don’t think you need to calm down. This is your oven, on top of that it cost a fortune and September is a piss take.

Keep giving them a rocket. Get on Twitter and keep going.
