How far in advance should I be looking for a barrister?

Second court appointment for finances is at the end of October. We need to make offers to each other ahead of that and then meet an hour ahead of the court session. So, it might get settled before that, but, knowing exH, not likely Hmm

I've been representing myself up until now, but need a shit hot barrister for this next part. How soon should I start trying to engage one? Ex H has had a solicitor all over this from the start.

Book them in provisionally now. You can always cancel

I presume if you are seeking a barrister you want to do Direct Access? (Not go through a solicitor). In which case I would be looking now. Barristers diaries get booked up months ahead. Also they will undoubtedly want to have a conference with you before the actual hearing.

Argh, best get onto it now!

Anyone got any recommendations? Brentford court, West London

Thanks
