Adoption in Scotland, any Scottish family lawyers around

If you adopt in Scotland on the basis that there will be no direct contact with the birth mother, is this something that the adopter can revisit after the Adoption Order?

Could it also be revisited at the time the Adoption Order is being considered, by the judge, and would a judge go against the wishes of the social worker involved if the adopter put forward a good case for why there should be direct contact with birth mother, for the benefit of the child, ie that they had reason to believe, and psychological assessments to support, that the original social workers decision had been faulty?

I am told that the law/practice in Scotland is very different from the law in England and Wales in this respect, is this correct?

Thanks
