Where are our title deeds? Would they be on the national register?

We bought our house about 6 years ago. It was a full on time at that time. I have been looking for things like title deeds and plans. All I can see are the title plans and national register info that our lawyer sent us which had the seller's name on it (she had passed away so it was her niece and nephew selling the property).
Would the national register now have mine and DH's name on it? Also would the solicitor who acted for us have a copy? He didn't send anything on to us. Or would it be with the mortgage company?

Deeds are all pretty much electronic/online now. You can search the register and download a copy (for a small fee) here: www.gov.uk/search-property-information-land-registry

@HilaryBriss Thank you. I know - charge is £3 or so. Before I do that, is it likely to be updated with our names on it? I have the title plan etc but with the previous owner's name on it.

Yes, once the purchase is complete the register will be updated with the new owners information.
