Anyone have have knowledge of Csa after death

My sons father died a few weeks ago I received a letter this morning from the Csa saying they may be able to claim back the money I am owed about 3k from the estate anyone have any experience with this I’m not gonna hold my my hopes up to high as the Csa have been totally useless With pretty much everything else. But wanted to see if anyone else had actually been through the process?

It's a debt. If there's actually some money in the estate the CMS lines up alongside the other creditors.

I've seen this before and yes the ex was paid the arrears. The young child child got the rest (in trust).
