I had facial fillers done by an experienced dentist at a cost of £350

They have caused 6 weeks of issues, 5 visits to A and E, drainage at A and E, 6 courses of antibiotics as the infection raged all over my face, prevented me from
Working, taken multiple days off, I have thrush in every orifice Shock, they have had me postpone major surgery as the infection would not come under control

And now they want to charge me the same amount to dissolve it Shock

They have accepted it's a rare bacteria caused by the fillers that the antibiotics can't get to

Is this in any way reasonable?

What would anyone else do?

I used to work in this area of business, we created a complication insurance to sell to surgeons as there’s a huge difference between a medical complication and malpractice / negligence and at present most only have malpractice and nothing to cover standard complications.

ALL surgery carries a risk of complication, and an infection with filler is one of them.
If there’s any proof that this occurred due to negligence then no you shouldn’t have to pay.

However if it was just one of those things, that couldn’t of been prevented then it’s down to you to pay.

If you didn’t sign or agree online to any kind of disclaimer you may be able to claim the money back through legal channels.

Personally for that amount and the situation most aesthetic practitioners I know would fix for free, despite not being obligated to.

Sorry you’ve gone through this, it sounds very traumatic.
