How long does probate office take to send you copy of a will online?

I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced a long wait after ordering a copy of a will online from the Probate office / UK gov site?

My estimated delivery date was a week ago but nothing has come through so it's been three weeks now since I ordered an online copy.

Maybe this is normal with lockdown etc?

Yes, I ordered a will and grant of probate and it was about a week to ten days after the estimated delivery date before it arrived. I emailed asking where it was and got this response.

"We are experiencing very high demand for copies of wills, which means it is taking us significantly longer than usual to provide copies requested via gov.uk.

We are sorry for the inconvenience and the frustration that this delay is causing. We understand how important this matter is to you.

Please be assured that we have your request and we are working hard to get the service back on track as soon as we can."

Got my request issued on day stated on acknowledgement - ordered on Friday 7th August, emailed to me on Monday 10th August - last week.

@ ElinoristhenewEnid Very speedy! Do you might me asking if it was for a recent will or a historical one?

@basilbrush. It was a recent will - person died May 2019 and probate granted in June 2020.

Have you got it now? Some can take up to 6 weeks if they are older ones.

It happened to one I requested

@suziedoozy No, nothing yet! Very recent will - probate granted last month.

I ordered one earlier this month and it came through quickly - the will was about 10 years' old.
