About to buy a house but need to separate

Name change for this, I'll try to give as many details as possible but I am scared of being recognised.

My husband has a problem with alcohol, drugs and lying and it has just got to the point where I can't take it anymore. Unfortunately this has come as we are just about to buy a house. My name is on the mortgage but not on the deeds to the house. We have had the mortgage approved but have not exchanged yet.

Apart from a processing fee I haven't actually paid anything into the house or deposit (basically a SAHM) so my question is, can I pull out now without being financially responsible? Will this affect any claims for financial support for me to find my own place?

I'm hopefully going to see a solicitor but I wanted to know if anyone had any advice on here as I'm feeling very sick and anxious with not knowing. I'm terrified of the whole process 😔

I really don’t know the ins & outs, just wanted to bump so someone else could advise, but did find this. I’m sure it must all be very scary but it’s good that you have made the decision to to have a happier future for yourself. Good luck Flowers

If you haven't exchanged you can withdraw without any liability to the seller
You will be liable for legal fees to date and perhaps Mortgage arrangement fee
Not sure how you can be on the mortgage but not on the deeds
