Hi I’ve got a court hearing on the 27th a weeks time I need this to be adjourned as legal aid hasn’t came through and the solicitor ‘helping’ is acting slow and careless about this.

Your solicitor is likely being "slow and careless" because Legal Aid isn't retrospective, so any work they do now will either have to be for free, or you'll have to pay for it.

Legal Aid work is appallingly paid - often at around 20% of what solicitors charge private clients. Imagine working at those poor rates and then expecting to work for free on top of that, all the while justifying why your employer is paying you to do a job.

You need to contact the court yourself, and the solicitor for the other party. The court may not adjourn this week, simply because Legal Aid might still come through in time for the hearing.

Your solicitor has absolutely zero control over the process of the LAA processingbyour application. So get off his or her case. Are you paying them, without complaint, for the work they are doing now? No? No.

What is the hearing? Whose application is it?

Well they have said it’s been accepted 2/3 orders and given that said they missed the statement/ evidence deadline without informing me what’s to be expected etc etc

The application is from the father of my child which he has an involvement of miss use of drugs and a criminal record so you can understand my frustration and worry I want to ensure my daughter is safe!
