What can be expected? Child contact for autistic child?

My child is 6 and has autism. Contact has been overnight since the age of 2 but it's not working out at all and I'm considering taking it back to court.
I want it to work out. But overnights are not working. The reasons may be outing so I have namechanged.
I think that a trial of no overnights for nine months or so (the same amount of days just coming home for bedtime) would make a big difference.

Has anybody dealt with this before that could give any advice as to what is reasonable or expected of a child with autism. If it's relevant they are on medication for sleep problems.
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks
