I'm in the middle of a divorce in France instigated by my 'd'h who appears to have done some 'divorce shopping'.
We had a verbal agreement to share our occupational pensions - his is £20k a year, mine is £4k. Saly, I sacrificied my occupational pension so that he could avoid chainging job during a period of about 15 years when he had no salary increases. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
In France all you can hope to get is a lump sum payment to compensate you for the loss of the marriage, and no pension sharing. This is about 8 years' maintenance (or less).
With my back increasingly against the wall from a financial point of view, I'm now wondering if it's possible to go to court in the UK once the divorce is final and request a pension sharing arrangement.
The UK pension providers won't accept a pernsion sharing order from a Franch court, only a UK one.
Any one any ideas.
Thanks
