Applied a couple of weeks ago for a non molestation order against my ex. Received an ex parte order in the post today (at 2pm) and a court date for Tuesday. I have to now sort legal advice, have this served on my ex, gather evidence and prepare myself mentally and emotionally, as well as some childcare, by Tuesday. I'm not sure how this is possible. My ex lives 200 miles away also so it's not like he's round the corner.

The order was granted on the 20th but for some reason they wrote the cover letter and sent the paperwork on the 31st.

How do I sort this out? Internally freaking out!

Process server can serve him on Monday.

Have you posted about this before? You should have been pestering the court and arranging to pick up the paperwork yourself. I'm surprised the court made the order on the paperwork alone. Sounds irregular to me.

@Collaborate I phoned the court 3 times as it took so long. The paperwork was all done on the 20th. The cover letter had 31st on it and it arrived yesterday. Yes they did it without even needing to see me which is why I have no guidance or clue what I'm doing.

Also @Collaborate I didn't know until yesterday that the paperwork even existed. They never actually told me it had been granted. It was a surprise when it turned up in the post!
