Employer has no money to pay me

Have contacted my union but in the meantime hoping for some MN advice.
I work for a small business (approx 15 staff)
I am reasonably senior but internal communication is dire, its emerged tonight that we do not have the funds to pay salaries tomorrow.
What next? I've been looking for another job anyway due to finances being so bad, but if we don't get paid, is that it- is the company insolvent? What can I expect to happen next? How do I get my money back?
Any advice welcome thank you.

Working in finance for years and occasionally jobs with cash flow a problems . The first priority is pay the staff if they can't afford to do that it won't be long before company ceases trading . I'd start looking ASAP for a new job . Hopefully you will get what you are owed in a few days .
