Can I force the sale of my house

Husband of 16 years left our home 2 months ago. I have continued to pay the mortgage and both of our names are still on the mortgage. I'm very keen to sell the house but he is refusing. Just to be difficult I think. Is it possible for me to force the house to be sold?

Yes. Within divorce proceedings the court can say what happens to the house. You can ask for it to be sold, but you need proper legal advice if you want to know what kind of settlement you should be aiming for.

Yes, same as what Collaborate said. I know at least 2 friends who took their husbands to court to force the sale of the house. Both women came out with a 60/40 split due to the belligerant behaviours displayed by both resppndents. Best of luck.
