Hi mummies...

I originally posted this in the employment section of mumsnet but it was suggested by one of the mummies to move it to legal matters or chat.

So I am having a lot of difficulties securing a job....I took a career break and ended up getting pregnant. I have been out of work coming up to 2 years but would like to return full time. I have no child care issues.

I qualified as a solicitor when I left my previous employer. I left with 6 months PQE in Corporate.

I worked so hard to qualify as a solicitor and want to put all my experience to good use. Although still at NQ level I feel as though I have gained invaluable experience at my old work place including assisting one of the partners head up specialist department (within corporate) as well as working alongside the managing partner on M&A deals. Despite the gap surely I should flair better compared to other NQs.

I am based in West London so I can commute into central and I can also travel around so I can do Buckinghamshire, St Albans, Berkshire and Reading.

Any advice from anyone who has overcome this situation would be much appreciated.

If you know any firms that may be interested please PM me!

I would also be open to a career change but would prefer to kick start my career either in private practice or in house.

Should I put up a status on Linkedin or am I committing career suicide?

Has anyone been to those returnship courses? any thoughts on this?

Thank you!
