Charged tenancy renewal fee even though we are not renewing our tenancy

We have told Estate agents we are moving out and not renewing our tenancy contract.
They have told us they will be taking a renewal fee from our account regardless.
I know i probably need to look at the tenancy agreement to see what it says but I'm away for a few days so I can't check it. But this just strikes me as total piss taking!
Can they really charge a renewal fee despite the fact that we are not renewing? I'm sure they will also charge us a ton of fees when we leave and will also charge the new tenants a load of fees before they move in!

Cheeky fuckers!

If they can take money from your account presumably it's a direct debit? Cancel that pronto and pay them manually instead.

No, they can't. Cancel the 3rd.

Dd not 3rd . . .

no renewal no fee. cancel it and write ( not kiddy comms, write) to agent, copy landlord, saying you are going on to a periodic tenancy/giving notice as appropriate.
