Please can someone tell me which authority I can talk to for advice on this ?

I have been really stupid and I think I have been scammed.

I impulsively invested £250 with what I now believe to be scam organisation. It was meant to be an auto trading logarithm that did everything in my behalf. Then I started getting phone calls saying that I wouldn't make money that way and that I needed to put a stop on the auto trade. Which I did. I'd lost about £10 at this point. Then this trader kept saying that he wanted to trade for me. I decided I wanted my money back. He said that wasn't possible as I hadn't turned the auto trade off and now I was down £190. I don't know what this means. I turned that function off. Does his mean I owe money? Please help me and please don't flame me. I don't know what to do. I can't even find the website now.

First thing I would do is terminate any credit card authorisations or direct debit authorities you may have set up? Are they taking money from your accounts? If yes - stop this now and they will have to come to you to claim any monies they say are owed.

If you gave them £250 as a payment then that is probably gone and you are unlikely to see it again unless you can find a company that you can take an action against e.g. small claims court.
