Warranty company being a nightmare

Please help me! 63 plate Ford C-Max, bought from a garage last April. Last week the oil light flashes up but doesn't stay on just keeps flashing. I pull in to petrol station and put oil in, dipstick seems ok but light is still flashing on. By the time we get home engine is making a funny noise so I get it booked in to the garage for the next morning.
Garage say engine needs stripping to find fault, warranty company concur so I authorise this. Garage call after a few days to say oil pipe is blocked causing the engine to be starved of oil and leading to the turbo going and needing the new engine. Except the warranty company are now asking them to strip it further. Why? Because there was a bit of metal in the photo. Mechanic says that would have been caused by the starvation of oil and damaging other bits. They agree further stripping is pointless expensive and time consuming when fault has been found.
Warranty company want to know where this metal has come from- I'm assuming they want to blame it for the blockage?
Where do I go from here? What rights do I have?
They wanted the fault it's been diagnosed and they've been told but they are insisting on more tests and if they don't get the answer they want then will they try to get more tests or refuse to pay out!

You drove it with the oil pressure warning light on, you should be grateful that the warranty company are interested at all!

Are you for real red? I was in the middle of driving when it came on. I pulled into the first petrol station less than a mile from when it came on and put oil in although the dipstick was already fine!
Turns out it was an internal failure and oil blockage meaning the engine had been starved of oil for a long time (longer than Iv owned despite the dipstick showing oil and the car not registering there was no oil getting round.
They're paying out now after the garage got annoyed with them dragging their feet but thanks so much for trying to pin it on me Angry
