parking fine at Starbucks from private firm? Anyone had one?

It was one of those that take photo of your car going in and out again. was over the time limit by about 20 minutes.Time limit was 1.5hrs.
I have appealed saying I had no idea there was a time limit..it was unsuccessful. There are signs but I didn't notice them . I was having coffee with a friend the whole time , there is no where else to go as its situated on an A road by itself.
My friend got a fine as well and she went to the starbucks and was told to appeal by the manager .

Has anyone just ignored the fine and it was forgotten or will the bailiffs come knocking if I don't pay up

If you don't pay up there is a good chance the parking company will take you to court. If that happens they will win unless you can show that the signs were inadequate. If you don't pay you may indeed get a visit from the bailiffs.

Thanks - apparently there is an iPad at the till to put your car number plate in if you are having coffee there. I didn't see this or was notified of it by staff..looks like I'll have to cough up..bastards!
