Is it legal to resell makeup?

I'm a qualified makeup artist and I've noticed that my family regularly ask me for advice of what to buy. I was thinking I could start a business where I recommend makeup and skincare for the person and they could buy it through me. So I would put a box of things a recommend together and then they would buy it off of me.
I'm not sure if I would be allowed to do this though?

Why wouldn't it be allowed??

In UK law everything is permitted unless it is prohibited.

So the question to ask is not whether it is allowed, but whether it is prohibited. Don't have the answer to that one though.

Loads of make up brands for sale on eBay, some of it used (eugh) so can't see the problem if you can get it cheap enough to make a profit on it without ripping your friends and family off.

Profit is probably more likely the issue. If you buy wholesale what does your contract with them say about resale?

EggsonHeads · 09/01/2018 12:44

What do you think boots does? What you would want to do is buy wholesale but that would only work on a large scale. You may be better off charging a one off fee including a starter bundle for a match and demonstration where you pick the products, show them how to use them and then let them keep them at the end.
