Married and living in house bought by in laws

I think I know what the answer will be here but worth checking

When I moved in with my (then bf) over 10 years ago, the house had always, and still is, in his parents names.

We’ve since married and had two children.

I was reading a thread elsewhere on the forum and it got me thinking, if, god forbid, DH tried to throw me out, I wouldn’t have a leg to stand on, would I?

I’ve got no doubt in my mind that the in laws would do anything for the children however , I doubt it could ever happen, but just saying....

If the house belongs to your PIL then no, you won't I'm afraid. It's not an asset of the marriage

I didn’t think so, thank you

It just feels rather.... insecure. 😐 there’s no way they themselves would leave me high and dry

I do and always will have a security fund

Don't be too sure about it. Plenty of parents protect their children on divorce, and you can anger predict the circumstances of a marital breakdown. Goo d that you have something to fall back on.
