Divorce costs as part of settlement?

I'm divorcing my H and am using a solicitor which is racking up the costs as we speak. My H has elected, for some reason, not to use a solicitor so it's me who is paying for all of the invoices that come through.

Would it be reasonable to ask for a proportion of these costs back as part of the divorce settlement or does it not work like that?

Thank you. I will take a look at that.

In our case I paid mine and the costs of my ex's solicitor too as I earned more. That is not that unusual. In our case we did a lot of face to face negotiation and reached agreement after legal advice and had the lawyers draw it up . Still cost us £20k though. Expensive business.
