Does anyone have any problems with damp/disrepair or any issues with their landlords?

OP posts:
BatteryOperatedBoyfriend · 20/10/2015 11:06

Depends on what information you are after...

redspottyladybird · 20/10/2015 11:09

Ways to resolve matters that the landlord wont help? Where to go next?

OP posts:
BatteryOperatedBoyfriend · 20/10/2015 11:14

Is there an agent, or is your agreement with the LL?

What repair issues are there? how bad is the damp? do you have young or old people living with you?

BatteryOperatedBoyfriend · 20/10/2015 11:14

Also, is it damp or condensation? they are really quite different.

redspottyladybird · 20/10/2015 11:45

I am reaching out to people who have these kind of issues and want to point them in the right direction.

I don't think you need to. These kinds of things are regularly posted about in various MN forums. If you wish to post advice, then do so, but not if you are actually wanting to advertise. Btw - you are not one of the Four Tops I take it? Therefore you should not 'reach out'. Dreadful expression.

redspottyladybird · 20/10/2015 13:44

With respect to you "wowfudge" I am not advertising and I'm merely trying to help anyone who is in a predicament with their landlord. Pointing them in the right direction after being in a situation where I fell foul of a nasty landlord and got my issues resolved very successfully. I find your comment rather abrupt and there really was no need!

OP posts:
PestoSwimissimos · 20/10/2015 13:59

I'm sure some people do & some people don't. Why are you asking?

wowfudge · 20/10/2015 14:09

Usually OP, posters post their issue and ask for specific advice or just post their experience in case it's of any use to anyone else. I read the forums to see if there is anything I can advise on or to get advice myself.

I think the responses you have had indicate that your approach has been unusual. But do post if you feel it will benefit others.

SurlyCue · 20/10/2015 14:17

Yes. Loads of repairs not done by LL. Let through agent. They say they contact him. He never responds. Ive fixed repairs myself. Dont want to stir up trouble and be evicted. Like my house and area.

redspottyladybird · 20/10/2015 14:29

Im asking cos i was in a terrible situation with my landlord and didnt realise there was help out there! Sorry if i shouldnt post this but after a successful court case i wouldnt want anyone else to suffer like i did. Thats all.

OP posts:
PestoSwimissimos · 20/10/2015 14:31

And how is your post helping people? Confused

BatteryOperatedBoyfriend · 20/10/2015 14:31

You may just be best to write your experience down so that when anyone reads it either now or in the future may be able to take advice from it.

LilithTheKitty · 20/10/2015 15:33

OP doesn't want to write it down because the advice is going to be a PM pushing compensation claims.

redspottyladybird · 20/10/2015 16:55

Omg I can't believe the tenor of some comments on the post. I was recommended to join this site. Obviously people's views mean nothing. Nowhere was I promoting selling or claiming monies or doing any of this for any gain whatsoever! I wanted people to know that there is help out there. That is all! Thread closed

OP posts:
BatteryOperatedBoyfriend · 20/10/2015 16:56

Why not go ahead and tell us then instead of prancing around the issue.

SurlyCue · 20/10/2015 17:10

You cant close threads on here.

Your posting style is not normally how advice is offered here.

You should have just posted what your advice was in the original post. As it stands youve posted 6 times without actually saying what you want to say! Not sure why you are being so awkward about it. Just say it!

wowfudge · 20/10/2015 20:00

Interestingly the OP has posted on another thread today wanting to recommend a no win no fee firm of solicitors....

SurlyCue · 20/10/2015 20:16

That is interesting wow.
